Description
Dull Flame of Desire features Antony Hegarty. This single is out on 22nd of October. The video was made by the 3 runners up in the Innocence video competition. Each gets a third of the song to direct.
"The Dull Flame of Desire" is a song recorded by Icelandic singer Björk featuring Antony Hegarty from the band Antony and the Johnsons. The track will be released as the fifth single from her sixth full-length studio album, "Volta", on September 29th.
The lyrics to the song are an English translation of a Russian poem by Fyodor Tyutchev, as it appears in the Andrei Tarkovsky film, Stalker.
The video has three parts. In the first part (directed by Christoph Jantos), a lot of little white points are moving until they form Björk and Antony's faces. The second part (directed by Masahiro Mogari) features Björk and Antony looking like a photocopy in black & white. Finally, in the third part (directed by Marçal Cuberta), Björk and Antony's faces are moving until the moment that Björk becomes Antony and Antony becomes Björk. It's a simple video, but (even though it's got three different directors) all the parts fit together with the song.
